Ms. Lejla Suman is director of REC Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has been with the REC since 2004 and has over 11 years' experience in providing consultancy services to a large number of municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the development of local environmental action plans (LEAPs) and other local strategies and studies. Ms. Suman has extensive experience in cooperation with neighbouring countries on environmental issues in the framework of transboundary projects; and with all stakeholders within the country, especially local governments and NGOs. She has acquired strong educational and knowledge transfer skills via projects focusing on NGO capacity building and public awareness raising. She also has wide experience in the facilitation of trainings and events at international, national and regional level, for governments, international organisations and local governments. She has written or co-authored many REC manuals and publications.
